Jacob
God reveals Himself to us through His Word. The Bible contains both description and prescription, as it outlines life and how to respond to different situations. Sometimes people did great, but other times they made all the wrong choices. Remember, God always provides a way back to Him.

In Action
For this object lesson, do NOT tell the kids what you are making. They must trust and follow your directions, even not knowing what the outcome will be. This demonstrates how we are to trust and follow God even though we may not know His plans.
Lead them through the steps of making 8-10 individual pieces, as seen in the video. Along the way, ask:
What they think they may be making.
Talk about Proverbs 3:5-6 and how it teaches us we can trust God and follow His instructions for life, which we find in His Word. He knows the future and holds it in His power. We may not know what is ahead or where God is leading, but when we know Him and His love for us, we can trust His plan.
Once everyone has their "boats", show them how to connect them while guessing what is being created. Finally, show them how to make it into a circle and see that they have made a crown, remind them as believers they are a child of the King!
Bonus Activity
Take your kids on a mystery journey through your house. For example, crawl to the front door, turn left and go under the dining room table, walk backward around the kitchen island, stop drop and roll to the TV, and touch it. The idea is to take them on a difficult journey. Conclude by sitting down together and reviewing the "trip."
Would it have been more comfortable to touch the TV without the obstacles? Ask how they can know God's plan. Ask how they can follow God's plan. Ask what happens if they get off of God's plan? Remind them that God always loves them and will provide a way back to His plan.
