Build a Family Boat
Materials: A big box, or materials to make a boat (be creative: pillows, blankets, etc..), stuffed animals.
Preparation: Hide the stuffed animals around the house or have an older child hide the stuffed animals.
Have fun and build an Ark together out of a box or big pillows, blankets, chairs. If using a box, children can draw windows and décor.
Older children adaptation: Older students can map out an outline with yarn a larger ark a smaller scale of the actual Ark ( a lot smaller). When the ark is built, have children find all the animals to bring to the ark.
Remind your children that the Ark was a safe place that Noah’s family stayed inside for a while. That the family was safe together in the Ark. God took care of Noah’s family and he will take care of your family.
All Good things!
Materials: A designated place in your home, a jar or container, Bible, paper, Clothesline, tape, Arks
Make a designated place to praise God for all good things. Make a place to remind your family that God is faithful! Gather your family and remind them how when Noah and his family left the Ark (Genesis 8:20) they built an altar to praise God and remember all the good things he had done. Keep the Bible open to encouraging passages. Write on the paper times God was faithful to your family. Example: God was faithful when he provided a healthy birth. God was faithful when a cut healed. Tape or display these times of God’s faithfulness in the designated place. God will remain faithful. God cares for your family.
