OPENING ACTIVITY

Needed: _Jenga® blocks

Set up the Jenga blocks in a stack as you would to play the game Jenga. Set three blocks next to each other, then stack three more blocks on top, perpendicular to the first three. Continue in this manner until all blocks are stacked.

One at a time, let the kids take turns removing one block from any level except the very top level of the tower.

Once the block is removed, the player must set the block on the very top of the tower to create a new row.

Kids may use only one hand to remove the block and place it on top.

The game ends when someone topples the tower!

Play as long as time and interest allow.
